Located near to Manali town of Himachal Pradesh, Bhrigu lake trek is a must do trek for any trekking enthusiast. The lake is named after the sage Rishi Bhrigu. Legend has it that the sage used to meditate near the lake and hence it has been rendered sacred; the locals believe that due to this the lake never freezes completely.
The Trek stars from Gulaba village which is approachable by road and is on the way to Rohtang. Gulaba is also famous among travelers for it’s natural beauty.
If you are looking for experience beyond the normal trekking you can definitely look for Bhrigu lake trek. The trek is one of the most beautiful treks and is famous for it’s green meadows.
Best time to visit Bhrigu lake trek is between May to September. Even if you are going in the summer, nights will be colder on this trek. Don’t forget to carry enough layers of woolen clothes for this trek.
Base Location – Gulaba, Manali
Max Altitude – From 14100 ft.
Travel to base – Manali is well known for its tourist attractions and is well connected by road.
Nearest airport is Kullu from where Manali is approachable by road.
Trekkers will be picked up from Manali in a shared cab which will drop at Gulaba. From Gulaba village we will start our trek towards Rola Kholi which is approx. 7 KM from Gulaba. We will camp for the night here.
We will start our journey to Bhrigu lake and ascend back again to Rola Kholi. Camp will be set up here for the day.
Trekkers will walk back to Gulaba Village from where they will be coming back to Manali. Trek ends here.
